A Year in the Land of Uncle Sam: Teaching French in Massachusetts (Amherst College)
After obtaining my Bachelor's degree in English and North American literature and thanks to my travels in the United States and Canada, I spent a year in the land of Uncle Sam teaching French to American students at the private university of Amherst College in Massachusetts.
It was a very enriching experience for me and allowed me to discover the world of teaching in an English-speaking country. I shared my native language through language classes (phonetics and culture), French film screenings, French lunches, and themed evenings (karaoke, dinners, games, ...)

From Toronto to Vancouver to Ottawa: A French Teacher's Canadian Journey
Then, for two years, I moved to Canada where I taught French in three different cities (Toronto then Vancouver and finally Ottawa) to all audiences (children (from 3 years old), teenagers and adults) and all levels! These various experiences allowed me to discover the Alliance Française de Toronto, a new exam (the TEF Canada) and teaching Canadian government officials and specific exams (notably the TCO (Test de Compréhension Orale) which is known to be difficult).
Becoming Madame French
Back in France and with all my experiences, I wish to share my knowledge and my passion for teaching. Since COVID, I have been teaching online but since September 2021, I offer online courses (on Zoom, Skype or Teams) and face to face in Dijon.
Empowering Multilingualism at NATO (NSPA)
In 2024, I had the privilege of teaching French and English for the NSPA in Luxembourg. During my tenure from April to December, I was tasked with developing a comprehensive language curriculum from the ground up. This involved crafting diagnostic and final assessments, as well as strategically placing more than 160 students into 12 distinct French and English classes based on their proficiency levels. The multicultural environment at NSPA provided an incredibly enriching experience, fueling my passion for teaching foreign languages.
This role stands as a career highlight, allowing me to contribute significantly to the language development of students from diverse backgrounds.
What do my students say about my classes? "With Madame French, you will Learn French in a fun and engaging way."
